Welcome to my blog!
After reaching the dizzy heights of 15 stone 1 pound (96 kilos)
I have decided to make a drastic change in my life.
1.
I can either grow from my 5ft 5” frame to a
splendid 6ft 5” or
2.
Be far more realistic and let go of my excess
weight.
So I’ve come to the decision of the latter and I have set
myself a goal…of losing 4 stone in 6 months. This will give me a far healthier weight of 11
stone, though I do concede I’ll need to lose a couple more stone to reach the
ideal weight for my height.
And how am I going to do this?
Well, I feel a lifestyle change is the correct course of
action to reach my ultimate goal. Exercise and nutritional, healthy, live food
is the perfect combination.
I will join my local gym on Friday (3rd Jan) and
I will source an exercise programme for weight loss.
On the food side, I admit I have dabbled in Raw Food for
many years, but only ‘dabbled’ mind you! I’ve already been a vegetarian for 18
years and I can confidently say that I’m the fattest vegetarian I know and
according to the NHS website, I am officially OBESE for my height. Thus, I must
ask the question…is a vegetarian diet that healthy?
I could go the route of being a vegan who eats cooked food (which
I have done in the past), but for this challenge that lies ahead of me, I feel
a more drastic change to my lifestyle is required in this instance.
Instead, I will be
heading down the RAW vegan route which consists of a diet of unprocessed, raw plant food that have not been heated above 40ºC (104ºF). Of course this also excludes my ultimate favourites…DAIRY and…ALCOHOL.
Living in Southern Spain as I do, I’ve become accustomed to enjoying the wine
of this country and the delicious Goat and Manchego cheeses. Alas, no more!
I have enjoyed 45 years of cooked food and nearly the same
amount of years drinking alcohol. For my next 45 years I will endeavour to
experience a lifestyle totally different to the majority of the population.
Not only will this journey be a physical one, but a mental
one of detox and cravings…but I’m prepared to meet these adversities with
courage and discipline.
Keeping a blog of my progress will be my incentive to stay
on this path and I hope that my experience may inspire others.
If you wish, you may join me daily to follow my experience
on this exciting new path I am embarking upon!
Eat enough...this usually means lots of fruit some veg and a small amount of fat x
