Day 6

Weight 14 stone 10 pounds

Lost: 1 lb

Yippee! Lost another pound! I’m so pleased with the way this diet is going…shifting the weight like this is really inspiring me to push on and stay raw.

This morning I got up, still felt a bit stiff from the gym but much better than yesterday! So I started the day with an hour’s walk with the doggies, came in and made myself a green smoothie consisting of 2 bananas and a fistful of baby spinach leaf and 2 ice cubes as I can only drink green smoothies very cold through a straw, otherwise I gag! (I used to drink those wheatgrass shots when I was in Brighton, but I overdid it one day and now I can’t even stand the smell of it without retching!)
If you are ever in Brighton, I recommend the Guarana Bar in Sydney Street because they do a wicked Acai smoothie…and you can also get other superfoods there too!

After spending the morning at a friend’s house, I came home with the intention of making another smoothie…but failed miserably and opted for 2 avocadoes and some marinated & dehydrated mushrooms. I also succumbed to a slice of the Raw Raspberry Chocolate Cake that kept looking at me every time I opened the fridge door…so that was lunch!

Just to make you jealous…I spent the afternoon lying out in the warm Spanish sunshine as it was sunny, blue sky and 28º on my terrace. Just to rub it in even more, I put my shorts on! Sorry to everyone in Northern Europe.

So my thoughts started to turn towards dinner…was I to have a salad or could I stick to a smoothie? I compromised with myself. I decided to have a green smoothie, same as this morning….and I chopped up lots of carrot and cucumber into ‘crudités’  and dipped them into raw houmous (which I made this morning from leftover almond pulp from the almond milk, also adding raw tahini, lemon, cumin, cayenne and some water.) I have to admit, it wasn’t my favourite and I’ll be making another tomorrow using zucchini instead of almond pulp, which I’m sure will give me a better taste. I think I’m going to make some raw cookies with the rest of the almond pulp which I have already sourced a good recipe for…pictures to follow.

I also had time to make some sweet potato crisps, cut very thinly with a potato peeler, chucked in a bowl containing sea salt and cayenne pepper, put my pristine-clean hands in there and mixed all together. Laid them out on the dehydrator trays to dehydrate overnight…so I’ll have crisps in the morning…how exciting, crisps for breakfast?!

I will definitely be visiting the Raw Raspberry Chocolate Cake again tonight before I go to bed as you just can’t  have one slice of this…and I think I’ve done very well to make it last this long, but it will all have to be gobbled up before tomorrow as it only lasts 3 days!

I know I said I was only going to ‘juice-feast’ all day but it didn’t happen and I’m not stressing about it, I’m still raw and still losing weight. I will re-visit the ‘juice-feast’ another day!

Hasta pronto!
